The Impact of Images on Facebook

Facebook’s recent announcement about the redesign of their news feed is based on trend for visual content. The percentage of posts that contain images has doubled in just over a year.

Photos on Facebook get 53% more likes and 104% more comments than a text post.  Posts that include a photo get 120% more engagement than the average post. If you add a photo album this jumps to 180%.

Far too many businesses are not making the most of their Facebook page’s visual impact.  They don’t look at the cover, profile and tabs as a design whole that represents the brand. Too often the page is a hodge-podge of visual elements that do the brand no good at all.

Now the whole page is going to be much more visual.  Make sure your team is ready to take advantage of this trend for visual content.
